Environmental Sound Effects & False Memory
A 2×2 between-subjects experiment (n=67) investigating how environmental sound effects influence memory accuracy using the DRM paradigm. Discovered that auditory cues integrate with semantic memory rather than creating distinct verbatim traces—revealing a critical disconnect between user confidence and actual accuracy (p=.048).
